Asian/Pacific Islander American Student Organization (APA)

Circle of Native Nations (CNN)

This organization is open to all students on campus, but is primarily made up of American Indian/Alaska Native students. This is the largest group of minority students on campus due to the many Indian reservations surrounding Superior. It's goals include encouraging Native American students to complete their degrees, to enhance cultural awareness of Native American traditions and history, and to provide social and academic support to students in the organization. They have a lot of activities during the academic year, but primarily in April "American Indian Awareness Month" where speakers present and they coordinate a Spring Pow Wow...just to name a few. Black Student Union (BSU)

This newly revitalized student organization is made up of African and African-American students on campus, but is open to anyone interested. Their goal is to make this campus and surrounding community culturally aware of the black experience. They do this by conducting cultural programs throughout the year but primarily in February "Black History Month."

Association of Students of African Descent

World Student Association (WSA)

You will often find students from 15 to 20 different nations studying at UW-Superior. They earn a solid education and experience life in the United States. International students also help American students learn about their home countries. This web page contains information you will need to learn about UW-Superior and determine whether it is the right university for you.

SOCALA

The Student Organization de Cultura Latina’s main purpose is to enrich the campus through Hispanic cultural awareness.  SOCALA is open to any/all students who show interest in the Spanish language and/or Hispanic/Latino/Chicano cultures, regardless of his/her major.

This will enhance a greater network of ideas throughout the campus and community and will work to promote Hispanic cultural diversity.

We will do this through various activities such as Latino literature readings, Latino film viewings, Latino cultural awareness events, Latino cultural and language awareness presentations at the local schools and social and cultural events on campus and throughout the community.

President: Diego Herrera

Vice President: Kayleigh Fogarty

Advisor: Martin Pflug

Remaining positions are open.

This organization was once called “Los Compinches” Spanish Club. This name and purpose of this org was different than ours right now. We feel that we must represent all Hispanics, Latinos, Chicanos, South American people of this school and of the world. We aim at educating students and the community about our cultures and getting people more involved with us.
