1 actually the Tech. helpdesk works fine to me
1 Awsome Job, I think our web service is really good and I would like to say thnks
1 Extremely Helpful and Kind
1 good people to deal with
1 Good work, thanks for the help!
1 Great service and help. Was locked out of my account and called and in a matter of seconds it was fixed!
1 Great service, invaluable!
1 He didn't know how to do a certain task on Excel spreadsheet
1 I added money to my printing account, but they never increased my printing credit.
1 I always had an immediate response to my question or problem
1 i believe they are very helpful and i will use them when i ned to.
1 I called last year when i was having trouble with my password. The person who helped me (sorry, i can't remember the name) was very helpful and very polite.
1 I called ResNet numerous times at the beginning of the year because I was having problems registering my computer. They didn't seem to really want to help me, and kept telling me to do things by myself. I finally got the help I needed and had my computer properly registered. I would like to see the willingness to help students show a little more.
1 I could not get into Ehive so I called and someone helped me figure it out right away
1 I don't have any specific comments.
1 I dont really know what its for... I always call Media Resources or ResNet office... They usually never know whats going on, and I usually figure out or fix the problem myself.
1 I found the staff to be informative and friendly.
1 I had a password problem and the gentleman that helped was very patient and thorough.
1 I had spy ware on my computer and they do not appear to be skilled enough to take it off. However, I know that it can be.
1 I have never contacted the Helpdesk.
1 I have not had occassion to utilize this service, but I have received several updates via email that have been quite helpful.
1 I have not had to use your services!!!
1 I have not taken advantage of the helpdesk, now that I know we have one I just might:)
1 I have not used the services
1 I have rented a digital camera a time or two and the people working at the helpdesk have been very helpful and professional.
1 I haven't received their help yet because it's unneccessary
1 I live in the hall, so my technology requests/questions go to Jay Revering at the Resnet office.
1 I love that all my "important" information is on my E-Hive home page. It makes it very easy to access what I need to know or do, etc. Also, as new student, I found it very helpful to find everything in one spot. Thanks...if this your area.
1 I needed help regarding programs and also needed help for a virus that I took home from the computer system here and they had no suggestions for me either occassions of my visits.
1 I never had to use the technology helpdesk.
1 I simply locked myself out of my account and had to have my password reset. In in the Old Main computer lab help is easily attained; elsewhere on campus it is a nightmare.
1 I think the helpdesk does a good job, but also maybe have more employees so help can be found immediately.
1 I thought they were always friendly and helpful.
1 I was having trouble accessing my UWS e-mail account on my home computer and the gentleman who was working at the helpdesk that day helped me solve my problem! Thank you!
1 I was in the media lab before with a very simple question and despite the fact that there were 5 people in the various offices, because the person assigned to help students was not there I could not get any help. Otherwise people have been helpful.
1 I was told I'd have something dubbed and finished by a certain time and it wasn't finished til much later. Other than that, the help desk staff has been very helpful.
1 I would like them to advertise the services that they provide more clearly. I bought some software this year and later found out I could have recieved it for free or much cheeper throught the school. As students transitions into laptops more, I can see a need for more services for general upkeep of computer. Most of us no nothing about computers except that we have a loan and that the place we bought it from will do every thing they can to rip us off. It would be nice to have a little more education on common problem areas.
1 I've never used it
1 its there when in need of assist
1 Josh was a great employee.
1 maybe someone there at later hours?
1 more cammeras update laptops, they get very old and dont work right.
1 My ability to consistently access my e-mail from off campus is much better than last year - when it was often hit or miss as to if the server was operating.
1 My internet was suspended because of something my roommate did, and I was never notified by them.
1 My log in was never given to me for ehive, they assisted me
2 N/A
1 no comment
1 No comment
2 none
1 None, that I can think of as of right now
1 Not always very friendly. It sometimes seems like we are a burden for you to help us.
1 not applicable
1 Not enough laptops available
1 On several occassions, I was locked out of my email account. The helpdesk was extremely prompt and helpful in solving my problem.
1 prmpt and courteous
1 quick response Knowledgeable
1 Sometimes the updates where unnessessary and seemed to screw up my computer even more then it was before. I became really upset and descided to get a different computer and do things myself. Once i did that I ended up with connection problems but all I really needed was the words program. So the connection wasn't a big deal.
1 staff is helpful; service is good
1 Student workers are not nearly as helpful as the employees.
1 The elderly Gentleman behind the counter was rude and brushed me off
1 The helpdesk was very helpful and made sure they answered my questions or told me where to go if they were not able to answer them for me.
1 The norton anti-virus system on campus for internet really sucks. I have had a number of problems with my computer that I never had before I came up here.
1 the people are rude who run the computer lab in old main
1 The printer in crownhart never worked. No matter how many times poeple would tell the help desk. I think that only 1/4 of the school year it was functioning right
1 The services I recieved were very helpful.
1 The techies were extremely willing to help, but weren't always able to solve the problems.
1 the technology help desk was very unhelpful. when ever i had a problem they treated me like i didn't know what i was talking about, and i obtained my answers which solved my problems from another source.
1 There is a tendency to overvalue Computer Work. There is a substantial problem with occasional spyware and basically useless graphics on our email. I just do not use UWS email. It constantly crashes, Norton AntiVirus hates it, and it is very unreliable. I do not communicate with UWS except with a non-UWS vendor. A good forty percent of the time it doesn't allow interaction. Even the cheapest free email has graphics. UWS is a good twenty years behind.
1 There was an internal problem with my D2L for one of my classes; I contacted the helpdesk about the problem and received some assistance; however, I had to go back and fourth between the instructor of the class I was having a problem with and the helpdesk. It took me almost an hour to address the issue, so I could do a fifteen minute assignment. Part of the problem possibly was that the issue had to be remedied in Madison.
1 There were two students in the office, one male and one female. The female appeared clueless when I asked my question. The male came over, said he had no idea what I was supposed to do, looking at me like 'how dare I waste his time'. The issue was never resolved.
1 They are always ready and willing to help.
1 They are good they are able to help people a great deal and they are very friendly.
1 They are helpful
1 They didn't seem thrilled to see me.
1 They have always been helpful to me. Usually i am in there putting print credits on.
1 They provided me help when RESNET never called me back on a problem I was having with my laptop. The guy gave me the answer to my problem in 2 seconds and I am still waiting for a call back from RESNET.
1 They usually can fix a problem or find the person that can.
1 they were helpful and i got what i needed
1 They were helpful and kind. However, I do not live on campus and wish the network was more easily accessible from my home where I do most my work. Specifically, at times the email was not working from my home for no reason that I can see. Luckily this was not at times when it was crucial, however, if it were I would have been PISSED.
1 They were very helpful and provided me with all that I needed.
1 they're usually very friendly and nice
1 Usually, I needed help getting access to be able to log in.
1 Very friendly.
1 very helpful
1 Very helpful when it came to unlocking my account.
1 what times i have used them they were ok
1 When they changed my user name they were friendly.
1 Why does my name not work sometimes. What happens if this happens at night or on a weekend what do I do then so I can log in. This needs to be addresed so students are never in a bind.

12. Comments on student computer labs:
# Response
1 need more computer stations in the cope center
1 A lot of the computer labs on campus are used for classes. Whenever I would like to use a computer, there always happens to be classes in progress. (Erlanson)
1 At times there aren't enough computers in the labs to meet demands. Especially computers that are hooked up to a scanner.
1 computer lab assistants are not always knowledgable about what you asked them. Once I asked an assistant to help me put the letterhead paper in the printer, because I needed to print something on a letterhead. He didn't know how to do this.... simple as putting the paper in ... They need more training, or simple knowledge about troubleshooting.
1 Computer lab in Holden Fine Arts are usually full in the afternoons
1 Computer labs are available in more than one building. At the campuses I have attended previously, computer labs were almost impossible to get in and were only available in one or two locations. Therefore, it was in my best interests to purchase my own PC. It's nice that I don't have to drag my PC everywhere I go in order to work on assignments.
1 Could use more computers in the library
1 don't use them
1 During busier times of the year is was difficult to get a hold of a computer.
1 During some weeks we don't have enough computers and the thing that usually disgusts me is people want to use the computers for academic work; however, other people are using it for chat rooms, games, etc.
1 Even if one particular lab is full, I can always find another lab to work in.
1 Fully install the software so we do not need to go through the setup pages every time we log in. For example with Adobe.
1 Having Mozilla on the computers would be useful, as well as allowing a higher screen resolution.
1 Holden Fine Arts building could use another computer lab for students who have classes in the building and want to stay there.
1 Holden needs more computers. Also, it takes FOREVER for the computers to sign on and sign off (several minutes)...this is VERY annoying. It was not this way at the start of the year but by the end it was very distracting.
1 HWC does not have enough computers.
1 I am an Extended Degree student so this does not apply to me.
1 I am never worried or nervous about getting a paper or assignment done on time because if my home computer crashes or something, then I can just come to school. I also fell really lucky and find it EXTREMELY convenient that we can print items without paying for them individually. The last university I attended was "old school" and made us pay per page or some crap like that.
1 I can pretty much use a student computer whenever I need one. There is always one available and can get what I need to get done on it in a decent amount of time.
1 I can usually jump on a computer and check e-mails. They are always busier around finals.
1 I could not open an electronic resereve paper, and the person that was suppose to help had know idea what to do. I recommend that you should have people that can help instead of saying "try it again, well I don't know." This was in the computer lab in the health and wellness center.
1 I don't think the student lab consultants were very useful. It seemed to me that for the most part they were being paid to basically sit around and chat with there friends or answering their e-mail.
1 I enjoy the computer labs and there are enough computers. I feel as if I can always find a computer when needed.
1 I feel more computers should have the GIS software for GIS students to use. The science computer lab is open a very limited amount of hours, and those are the only computers with that software.
1 I find that the computers I come across on campus are unable to fit my need academically do to the lack of not only software choices but operating system choices. There are no Linux computers, a few amount of macs, and even if I do have access to a mac, Safari is not on them. Internet Explorer does not follow W3 standards so my work can't be done in IE. Also, Firefox and other freely available choices are missing from the Window's PC
1 I had only one or two problems all year; somebody is doing a great job of keeping things running smoothly
1 I have not seen any lab attendants
1 I have trouble finding an open computer often
1 I need GIS ArcMap & ArcView, and Visual studio
1 I often wonder whether I will be able to find a computer to use when I need one and I do not have any idea who is an assistant in the labs as they are not labeled as such in any way.
1 I personally use a jump drive to transport data back and forth from home to school. Unfortornately, due to the design of the Dell computers, it can be a challenge to gain access to the USB port. I have also noticed that some of the ports are loose so the jump drives do not stay connected or connect at all. It is difficult to find available computers especially in the library at times.
1 i think their should be more computers in RSC because they are usually pretty full. And during finals it was extremely hard to get one.
1 i used zip disks and you removed the zip drives from the computers in the COPE center which was horrible for me, i could no longer work on items at home and save them to open up at school. Not to mention all the files that i can no longer access at school if i need too.
1 I wish I could install my data transfer software onto the network computers. This has prevented me from using my data stick to move information from my dorm computer to one in the labs.
1 i wish there was one in barstow
1 i wish there were more scans on campus, but other then that i feel the labs are fine.
1 If I need a computer, I usually go to the library, but, there are times when no computer is available
1 In the COPE center and McCaskil in general there were never enough computers to meet my needs.
1 in the HWC there appears to be no assistant
1 It can be difficult to find an open computer in RSC, especially around lunch time.
1 It can get loud in the Old Main lab and many people go on thier cell phones which can be distracting.
1 It is difficult for me to use the computer labs becuase most of them are not set up for a variety of people (height wise) and the chairs are for the most part useless in this area. I have carpal tunnel and the labs are very uncomfortable. Also, the USB ports on the towers are very awkward to acess for USB memory devices. When, in the future, buying computers this may be something to look into. (I realize that I'm being critical but I think that's what you're going for here. In general, I am very happy with this schools tech support.)
1 it is not a quiet zone, should be able to talk. Got yelled at for talking.
1 It would be great to have a computer lab on the main floor of the RSC.
1 It would be nice if there were extended hours in the Holden Fine Arts computer lab. (Especially near finals week.) I am a music major and need to hop from the practice rooms to the computer lab. I lose a lot of time walking from the Old Main lab to the Holden practice rooms.
1 It would be nice to have a few larger computer labs on campus. For example I have had a very difficult time finding an open computer in the fine arts building. There is not a sufficient lab in that building, for the number of students that have courses there.
1 It would be nice to have a few more computers in RSC. I don't know how this would be possible space-wise, but it is a little annoying around mid-terms and finals to have to search for a computer all around campus in order to print out a paper which would only take about 5 mins to do.
1 It would be nice to have more computers in the library.
1 It would be nice when the computers in the campus halls, especially Crownhart would be accessible and workable, especially since we are reasurred that we will have a computer to work on if we dont have our own personal one.
1 It's only when everyone is doing papers at the end of the semester that it is hard to find a computer sometimes, but I can almost always find one.
1 Lab consultants will just sit there and watch while you are having trouble instead of helping right away. Especially when you are having trouble with the printer and it is very obvious.
1 Larger computer lab in Holden Fine arts Building would be great.
1 Media center- no printers
1 More computers are needed in the Fine Arts lab, or a second computer lab on the 3rd floor would be wonderful.
1 more computers....there too little for amount of students
1 More scanners would be useful and make sur ethe printers are filled with paper and operable. there were many problems with the rsc printers this semester
1 Mozilla
1 My experiences in HFAC lead me to believe more computers should be available. There are many instances the entire lab is full. It would be ideal if additional computers in HFAC were equipped with desktop publishing software, like Adobe CS Suite.
1 N/A
1 Need ISIS Draw for chemistry (see Dr. Lane); not on university computers, yet it's a free download. Cope center computer numbers do not meet demand. Have never seen a computer lab consultant to ask for help in cope center. Need to post signs or directions where to obtain help.
1 Need labs open during longer hours and need more computers. Especialy during high flow times.
1 Need more in the RSC.
1 Need to always check paper...but that's better this year than last
1 Never had to use them, I ran my own computer lab next door to the m130 lab.
1 Nice!
1 no one inforces the fact that some dont want to hear people talking on their phones or listen to them talking loud. why cant anyone inforce people being quiet.
1 No.
1 none
1 Not enough computers around...we don't need hundreds more but just a dozen or so.
1 Not enough computers in the Cope Center
1 not in holden fine Arts The edtnig labs also need to be expanded it is becoming very populat
1 Off campus student
1 Often times, computers were filled up in the places where I would go to work. The cope center was often filled as well as the computers in the basement of the dorms. Sometimes, computers did not have easy accesibility to jump drive ports and I was unable to access my work. Other times, computers were out of paper when I needed to print something.
1 one day i was in the library and i had to print off a color copy. There was a lab consultant sitting at the help desk doing nothing. After two blank pages printed, he finally said "oh, yeah that is not working, you will have to use the one in the old main lab." if it's not working why is it even on. By the time i got back to my computer for some reason it had printed more sheets, wasting more of my printing credits.
1 Personally, I only need to use these labs when pressed for time and in one location. But there is plenty of space available.
1 Please install fully functioning version of Visual Studio .NET, MASM, and other common utilities used by CIS and CSCI students.
1 Printers are broken when I need to use them, or dont print and it eats up my print credit
1 Put in a OS X system. They're so much more effective and speedy than windows.
1 RSC computer labs could use a few more computers
1 Saving personal options would be nice. Having "favorites" on web browser.
1 Several times when I have gone to use computers in the basement of my dorm, people have been playing games or chatting online. I think a stricter policy needs to be set saying academic work comes before leisure time.
1 Some are much better than others--some keyboards are decidedly "sticky" and are hard to type on--cell phone use in computer labs often annoying
1 Some labs could use more computers. The one that are there are up-to-date and have the software I need.
1 Some labs, like the ones in RSC and Holden are always full.
1 Some of the programs that where required to use in class did not have the proper hook up and did not have internet access so adjustments couldn't be made out of class. That made it difficult for students who are full time and work.
1 Sometimes lab use heavy at COPE center....must find other computers, usually at library.
1 Sometimes the computers goes slow when logging into the computer
1 Sometimes there are not enough computers, particularly in RSC. I wish you would update fonts. When I create powerpoint presentation on my computer then transfer them to the school for presentation, the fonts are usually unavailable. That causes a lot of extra work particularly when time is of the essence.
1 sometimes there were not any available computers
1 Sometimes they are full when you need them so you have to wait or go somewhere else
1 Student consultants also do not seem very friendly all of the time. It is like they are only there for the job, and not to really help other students.
1 Student workers need to spend less time visiting with their friends. For some students it's hard enough to ask for help; as the dynamic a group adds and the question goes unanswered.
1 The best computer lab is the COPE center. Those computers seem to run a lot faster.
1 The computer in MC 139 NEEDS printer access! There are not enough computers available...been in the Cope Center lately?? There are people hanging around like vultures just waiting for you to get up. The Cope Center, library, etc. don't have long enough hours...we need 24 labs, especially during high-use times like the end of semester. Students should be informed as to WHERE all the labs are. I just found out (after 2 years) that there's a computer lab in the wellness center, and I heard there's one in Old Main too. Where is it and what are its hours??
1 The computer lab in Erlanson has computers that quite frankly need to be updated. We had to take a final exam on these computers and the computer couldn't bring the exam to the screen until a half hour later. This is just one example, when doing work for another class that requires special software none of us in the class could get access. Another problem with the lab in Erlanson is what is with closing the lab down just because we can go to Old Main doesn't mean we should have to leave this lab room that has the software that we need to use. I really think that lab should be left open just like Old Main's lab is.
1 The computer labs and the technology need to use Universal Design and be more accessible!
1 The cope center is always full. This institution is known for it's Elementary Ed. program, yet the Cope Center doesn't have enough computers to meed the demands of the program.
1 The COPE Center needs more computers there never seems to be any free
1 The lab in the Ostrander dorm could use some work
1 The old main lab should be staffed 24/7 if only for security reasons.
1 The ones in the library are tied up in class a lot. The computer labs in Old Main, RSC, ect. give me the willies. There is no ability to interact with the Library and my research. It is impossible to download software. I am still trying to figure out why some computers display PICA 8. Computer technicians must have the best eyes in the world. I was equally shocked to discover that wireless in the library is only functioning in areas that already have computers. It is totally useless. I have wireless at home and cover neighbers in adjacent buildings. I assume your lack of resources is do to a lack of funds. There is no reason why you do not cooperate with the library. UWS's library is pathetic to begin with. The fact that computer access is periodic doesn't help. I get the distinct impression that no one from the larger community uses the UWS library. that says a lot.
1 The only problem I had was that I was not able to use and access PsychMates program from the general lab. We had to get special permission to unlock the Psychology lab to use the computers there.
1 The printers in the computer labs always have problems -- they print streaks, even on the expensive colour printer. I got so fed up with turning in papers that looked horrible, that I bought my own printer and don't use the school printers anymore. Even just cleaning the printheads and laser cartridges, as well as routine maintenance, would clear up so many of those problems.
1 the printers wont print when i have 1.07 left in print credit. the computers in the lab in the front of the snack bar are really slow. otherwise its been o.k.
1 The prnters were bad in all of the labs.
1 there are comupter is just sucks when you go to one bulding and have to travel arcross campus to use a comutper cause where you went orginally were all being used
1 There are many times throughout the semester that you must go from building to building to find a computer that is open. Open RSC computers are especially difficult to get to.
1 there are not enough computers all of the time
1 There are too few computers in the Holden Fine Arts Building. I would have appreciated it if the campus computers offered OpenOffice software in addition to Microsoft. I really hate the Yellowjacket background whenever you log on, it would be nice if students could individualize their profile's settings.
1 There could be a few more computers, or a better system for closing computer labs when they are reserved for classes that do not even fill the lab.
1 there could be more of them. it seems that sometimes they are full and i cant get on one when i need it. or i have to go to a completely different building to use one.
1 There is in Old main but not in RSC or Fine Arts.
1 There is never an available computer over in McCaskel. The computers in the technology center, we are informed, can NOT be used unless you are working on teachers ed projects so most of the day that room sits heavily equiped and empty. Students should be able to use them if there is no class in the room.
1 There should be more computers in the basement of Ostrander.
1 There's not enough computers in the COPE center.
1 They are available to me in every building
1 They are awsome! I wouldn't get by without them. Computers are way expensive
1 They are fine but sometimes it takes a long time for someone to come and fix a problem
1 They are too small and there aren't enough computers
1 they don't have GIS software i need for class
1 They need to be larger in size
1 They're all clean the only disappointment is that the only computer lab that isn't ever completly full is the Old Main lab.
1 They're great. They're always open when I need them.
1 Those who are working in the labs need to be a lot more strict with the use of cell phones. Even though there are many signs up in the lab, people still use them in the lab and it's really, really annoying.
1 too crowded and close together for people who like their space
1 We need more computer labs.
1 We need more. We need a lab large enough for CSCI 101. It is an embarrassment to the university to not have a lab for that class. They should re-examine funding for CSCI.
1 Whose decision was it to install Windows on all the Macs? This isn't a big deal, it just sees counterproductive, even recidivist.
1 Why don't my print credits keep transferring or get taken off my bill?

Technology in Classrooms

16. Comments on technology in classrooms:
# Response
1 Again, I am Extended Degree student - this does not apply.
1 Again, we need a lab for CSCI classes. It makes no sense to teach a computer course "in theory."
1 Chalk is not a good thing to breathe. How about whiteboards?
1 Computer classes should be held in computer labs
1 Do professors identify what their requirements for technology equipment when classrooms are being assigned? Last semester I had to do a group project which required a powerpoint presentation, but the classroom we were in did not have a computer or projection system. Unfortunately, none of my group members owned a notebook computer, so we had to borrow one, plus check out a projector from the media center. For the first presentation, we couldn't get a projector as they were all reserved. This caused us serious problems. When assigning rooms, professors should identify what the requirements for the course are so necessary equipment is available when needed (as much as possible.) I realize this can be an issue, as size of the room is also important for the class. But when possible, this should all be coordinated.
1 Dr Bertleson used technology in his class and it was great! i would like it to be used in more class rooms
1 Get computers in all rooms; it would make it far easier for presentations, etc...
1 Good enough
1 I am a distant learning student
1 I didn't have much experience using classroom technology because I was in some pretty "basic" courses this semester. Hoewever, I did witness a couple instructors of mine and a fellow student use some in-class technology, and it seemes just fine.
1 I dont really ever need help using it. Its pretty easy to figure out.
1 I have't needed help
1 i liked useing the powerpoint and thought it was a great way to organize my presentations.
1 I love that it is being used more and that we as students are learning more about it too.
1 I think sometimes its difficult to figure out how to get the computer/projector/vhs connection to work...usually takes us a while, but we figure it out.
1 I use the GIS Lab quite a bit and there have been many networking conflicts over the past semester. These have now been resolved but there were at least two students who weren't able to follow along with the instructor because of these conflicts. Also it would be great if there were some sort of key card installed so that we could get into the lab and work on projects without having to find Dr. Bajjali or work during off hours.
1 I used the library classroom and some teachers do not have their students plug in the wireless laptops after classroom use which makes for difficulties in morning classes. Also, one teacher left himself logged in which disallowed me access to the main computer/projector unit. If people could go over a list of to-do's with teachers who use this technology, but this is just a suggestion.
1 I would say one area that needs help is in the holden fine arts building. There is no tech. that I have seen. It would be nice to see if they have a need for music systems in some of the classrooms.
1 I've used PowerPoint in the classroom for projects and it works really well -- it's nice to be able to save to the G drive and pull everything up through that
1 instructors need to be taught how to use the equipment
1 It has always worked when we have used the video recorders.
1 it seems that a lot of instructors don't know how to use projectors in the classrooms.
1 It was cutting edge in 1978. It is pretty much obsolete. I had one summer class in a room with the heat on and windows that could not be opened. I again feel this is a lack of resources for you.
1 It was interesting learning how to use the technology.
1 it would be awesome if there were hook ups for the net and computers in classrooms. otherwise its o.k.
1 It would be nice to have the internet in EVERY class room. The ones that are equiped function ok, but there are certain classrooms which really need this access because of presentations, etc.
1 its great
1 Maybe have a class so that some of these teachers know how to use it.
1 More classrooms are in need of computers and overhead projection. For a number of classes, we can not do powerpoint presentations due to the lack of school resources.
1 more how to books would be sueful...and get a computer illiterate person to go through them with you so they can point out where assumptions are being made about what people know.
2 N/A
1 na
1 Need technology like the HWC and working in all classrooms.
1 No.
1 none
1 on more than one occation i have seen a man come to a class and fix a power point problem within minutes of a call. this is very good.
1 One of my classrooms Old Main 0103 did not have a projector for power point presentations. This hindered presentations class members wanted to offer.
1 one of our projectors in our room was broke for almost 2 weeks and we were using them for presentations so we had to put everything on hold, i dont know why it took the people so long because we told them right away?!
1 Our overhead projector doesn't work well and hasn't worked well for the entire semester.
1 overhead broken and not fixed. have to use a paper clip to keep it on
1 Problems with distance learning setup for T Ed classes--many times, the links to distance sites wouldn't/didn't work.
1 Remotes are often missing or misplaced.
1 Some classrooms are equipped, others have nothing and I felt like I was being ripped off having to pay money to attend classes with an overhead that didn't work and no computer access.
1 Some of the equipment in Holden doesn't work like it should. The computers are fine, but the technology in some of the classrooms isn't where it should be.
1 Some of the rooms I had class in did not have a computer and projector in them so it was hard when I had to give a presentation using power point. I would go to the helpdesk to try and check out a lap top and projector but there would be none available. It would be nice if all the classrooms that get used alot had a computer and projector in them.
1 some rooms are not equiped with the right tools
1 Sometimes teachers had problems using classroom technology.
1 Technology in Holden Fine Arts is not up to date. There is not even Internet access in all of the rooms. There also needs to be more projectors in that building (the kind that hook up to computers.)
1 the cd drive for the projector in room 316 in old main doesnt work properly, it always freezes
1 the computer system in barstow 103 is terrible. my instructor ended up wasting a couple of hours of class time this semester because it is very slow and sometime would freeze up.
1 The computers breakdown to often they should offer to teach us general tricks to see if it's something simple but it's probly not offered because they're scared we might break it.
1 The computers in some of the staff offices are old, out-dated and missing updated versions of the software.
1 The teachers don't know how to use the stuff.
1 The technology in the classrooms is great. I just wish everyone knew how to use the technology the right way.
1 There are some teachers that use the technology but then do not know how to get around it when they need too
1 There are such a limited number of classrooms that have all the presentation capabilities. As a student it is frustrating to see people with disabilities not able to present projects in certain rooms on campus because there is not access for them. Wheelchair bound individuals cannot present in the classroom where MUSC 160 is taught.
1 There have been times when my instructors needed help doing certain things, but help was not available.
1 There is always problems in KOT with the video/dvd recorder. also with the overhead lights
1 There is one computer in Holden in the classroom 2117 I think is the room number - I don't know what was wrong with it but it took a VERY long time to get it booted up and signed on.
1 there older equment so it is hard sometiems.
1 There were far too many times that the instructors could not get the computers to work during lectures.
1 They are a pain when you rely on them to work for a presentation and then they are broken.
1 They are great
1 This is rather specific but it would have been helpful to have some database training available; Access or Oracle
1 We have had some problems with the technology in our distance learning classroom and some rooms lack computer access entirely (it would've been an asset for one of my classes this semester to have had computer access).
